Meet Dr. Jenifer Epstein
A Genuine Love for What She Does
Spend a little time with Dr. Jenifer Epstein and it doesn’t take long to see how much she enjoys being a chiropractor. She loves helping people understand their bodies, answering their questions, and seeing the difference it makes when they can get back to doing more of what matters to them.
As Dr. Epstein puts it, “I still nerd out over everything.” That curiosity and enthusiasm haven’t faded over the years. She believes chiropractic care should be personal and hands-on, and she values the connection that comes from really getting to know how a person’s body moves.
When meeting someone for the first time, she also wants to know more than what hurts. She wants to understand what’s changing in their life.
From the Dance Floor to Chiropractic
Dr. Epstein always knew health care was where she belonged, but chiropractic wasn’t originally the plan. While completing a dance minor in college, she experienced an injury that led to her first chiropractic visit on campus at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
That experience changed her direction. She realized there was more to health care than medications and surgery and decided to pursue chiropractic.
Dr. Epstein graduated from Central Dauphin High School, earned her Biology degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and completed her Doctor of Chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College in 2007. She has also pursued additional education in orthopedic chiropractic care and has spoken on a variety of health-related topics over the years.
Helping Patients Understand the Why
When Dr. Epstein opened Hershey Family Chiropractic in 2018, education became a big part of the practice from the start. She doesn’t want patients simply following recommendations without understanding them. She wants them to know what’s happening in their bodies, why a particular approach is being recommended, and how they can take an active role in their health.
That philosophy shapes the way the entire team works. The doctors regularly consult with one another, bringing different perspectives to a patient’s care when needed. Just as importantly, appointments aren’t about rushing someone through the door. There is time for conversation, questions, and making sure patients feel heard.
Away From the Office
Outside the practice, Dr. Epstein is happiest somewhere quiet with a good book—preferably near the ocean. She and her husband have two children and three dogs, so there’s always plenty of life and personality at home.
That family focus carries naturally into the practice. Many patients have been coming for years, giving Dr. Epstein the chance to know their families, hear about what’s happening in their lives, and care for them through different seasons.
For her, that’s one of the best parts of the job: getting to know the person behind the appointment.
