Pediatric Chiropractic in Hershey
Kids are natural risk-takers. They climb, jump, tumble, bump their heads, and somehow find new ways to test their limits every day. While that’s all part of growing up, those everyday bumps and falls can sometimes affect how comfortably their little bodies move.
At Hershey Family Chiropractic, we understand that caring for a child is different from caring for an adult.
Gentle Care Designed for Growing Bodies
Pediatric chiropractic care uses age-appropriate adjustments designed to encourage comfortable movement through the spine and joints as your child grows.
Because a baby’s body is very different from a teenager’s, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Infants and toddlers receive gentle adjusting methods adapted to their age and size, while older kids closer to adult size may be adjusted more traditionally.
Just as importantly, we pay attention to how your child is feeling that day. Comfort and trust come first—always.
Why Do Parents Bring Their Children to Us?
Childhood is a busy time for growing bodies. Kids are constantly developing, moving, playing, falling, and getting right back up again. Parents may bring their children to us when they have concerns about movement following everyday bumps and falls or when their little one seems uncomfortable, restless, or unusually fussy.
We also see families who have questions about concerns such as poor sleep, frequent crying, or constipation. In fact, there’s even an affectionate nickname around the office—the “poo button”—that sometimes comes up when families visit with constipation concerns.
Whatever brings you in, we’ll listen to what’s been happening and explain our approach in plain language, so you know what we’re doing and why.
No Rushing, No Forcing
A nervous child doesn’t need more pressure. That’s why we never rush an adjustment or force a child who’s having a tough day.
If your little one isn’t ready, that’s okay. We can try again another day rather than turn their appointment into a stressful experience. Children are also welcome to bring a favorite doll, bear, or stuffed animal along. Sometimes we’ll even “adjust” their toy first so they can see what we’re going to do before it’s their turn.
Many members of our team are moms themselves, which brings an added understanding to those moments when a child needs a little more patience.
Dr. Leanne Tressler-Hess also brings advanced pediatric training to the Hershey Family Chiropractic team and has experience caring for children at different ages and stages. Together, we want visits to feel relaxed, positive, and comfortable for both kids and parents.
Patient Testimonial
I absolutely love my chiropractor! We got the call a few days ago that my son got in to preschool.
I started going to Hershey Family Chiropractic 2 weeks before I gave birth to him in 2020 and he has been going since he was 1 month old. He loves going to Dr Jen and will even have a tantrum when it’s not his visit to be adjusted. “I CRACK! I CRACK!” The staff there loves him and are great with him. I got my mom going to them as well and she told then in her excitement. Tonight we came home to this amazing card addressed to Cato from the staff. They are so thoughtfull and amazing and I’m so glad I found them. I recommend them to everyone.
Thank you to the amazing staff. we love you guys.”-Miranda G.
